- 1½ Cup grated coconut
- 1 teaspoon powdered green cardamom
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 Cup powdered jaggery
- 3 teaspoon sesame oil
Dry roast the coconuts
To prepare this delicious recipe, take a pan and add grated coconut to it. Dry roast the coconut and keep it aside.
Take a new pan and fill it with 1 cup of water. Bring the water to a boil.
After that, add the jaggery and let it dissolve. Add the roasted coconut when the jaggery mixture begins to thicken.
Prepare a dough
Mix thoroughly and increase the heat to medium-high.
After that, add the cardamom powder and stir thoroughly. Turn off the flame after a few seconds, remove the mixture, and set it aside.
To make the dough, add the rice flour and hot water to a mixing container. Sprinkle with salt and safflower oil.
Steam the modak and relish!
To avoid lumps, stir the mixture thoroughly. It's important that the dough isn't very stiff.
Take a portion of the dough and roll it out into little cups with the help of a rolling pin. Fill the dough with a tablespoon of coconut-jaggery filling and seal the edges with your hands or with the help of modak moulds!
