How to make Shahi Paneer?

Ingredients of Shahi Paneer

  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1-inch cinnamon
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 green cardamom
  • 1 black cardamom
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 green chili
  • 1-inch ginger, cut into cubes
  • 3-4 garlic, roughly chopped
  • 2 medium onions, cut into quarter
  • 10-12 cashew nuts, soaked
  • 4 medium tomatoes, cut into quarter
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp Kashmiri red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • Prepared Puree
  • 250 gms paneer, cubed
  • ¼ cup cream
  • 1 tsp Kasturi methi, crushed

Process to make Shahi Paneer

  1. To start making shahi paneer, take a frying pan, heat 1 tablespoon butter, and fry 2 cardamom, 1-inch cinnamon, 1 black cardamom, and 3 cloves in the butter.
  2. Now add 1 chopped onion, 3 cloves roughly chopped garlic, and 1 inch chopped ginger.
  3. Saute the onions to get soft and mashy.
  4. After this, add chopped tomatoes and fry a little along with onions.
  5. After frying them add 1 cup water and 1 teaspoon salt to it. Mix it well.
  6. Cover and cook on low heat for 20 minutes or until all the stuff gets completely soft.
  7. Then set it aside to cool. After this take a blender or mixer. Blend this in a smooth paste without adding water.
  8. Strain the puree to make it smooth and silky. Set it aside.
  9. Again take a large pan, and heat 1 tbsp butter in a pan. Fry ½ tsp Shahi Jeera and 1 bay leaf.
  10. Fry on low flame, add ¼ tsp turmeric and 1 tsp chili powder.
  11. Cook for a few minutes, or until the spices become fragrant.
  12. Mix in the prepared tomato-onion puree.
  13. Next step, add ¼ cup cream and mix until everything is get completely combined.
  14. Add cubes of paneer, and a few threads of saffron and stir it well.
  15. Cover & cook on a medium flame for 5 minutes or till the flavors are well absorbed in paneer cubes.
  16. Now add ½ tsp Kasturi methi.
  17. And ¼ tsp garam masala. Combine thoroughly.
  18. Finally, enjoy homemade shahi paneer with naan or roti.

Instructions
